Idea Montagna Escursioni sui Monti Sibillini trekking guide:Â The Sibillini Mountains form a chain that extends south to north between Umbria and Marche, along the watershed between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Adriatic Sea, and are geographically located within the Umbrian-Marchigian section of the Central Apennines. The latter represents the highest and most rugged part of the entire Apennine system, with the massif of Gran Sasso reaching 2912 meters of altitude further south and forming a large arc, consisting of mountainous blocks, predominantly oriented south to north, well defined and parallel to each other, where the Sibillini Mountains occupy the central area.
The magnificence of the Sibillini Mountains lies in their wild character. The way to get to know the group is through the 33 itineraries proposed here, which are complemented by two long-distance routes: the Norcia-Castelluccio Ring (2 stages) and the High Traverse of the Sibillini (4 stages).
